Team Member earns NIHR Doctoral Fellowship and Clarendon Scholarship

Congratulations to Rakhshan Kamran, who earned an NIHR Doctoral Research Fellowship and Clarendon Scholarship (combined value of $875,000) for his work at Oxford.

Rakhshan Kamran, a member of the Q-Portfolio team for 7 years, has been awarded an NIHR Doctoral Research Fellowship, valued at £371,533 ($650,000) for his doctoral research project at Oxford, which focuses on implementing the GENDER-Q.

Rakhshan was also named a Clarendon scholar, awarded to the top 1% of Oxford University applicants and is valued at $225,000. The Clarendon scholarship is Oxford’s flagship graduate scholarship.

Rakhshan is currently a final year medical student at McMaster University. He is taking a leave of absence from his MD studies to complete a DPhil (Oxford’s designation for a PhD) at Oxford University this Autumn in Musculoskeletal Sciences. He graduated from the Life Sciences Program at McMaster University in 2019 Summa Cum Laude and as a recipient of the Provost Medal.
