CONCEPT-DRIVEN APPROACH
BODY-Q is a patient-reported outcome measure designed to evaluate outcomes for obesity, weight loss treatments (e.g., diet, exercise, and bariatric surgery/medicine), and body contouring to remove excess skin after massive weight loss and for cosmetic reasons. The BODY-Q includes independently functioning scales that measure appearance, health-related quality of life, eating concerns, and experience of care. Recently, 6 BODY-Q scales (i.e., BODY-Q Obesity Module) were included in the ICHOM Set of Patient-Centered Outcome Measures for Adults living with Obesity (see figure below). Most recently, we completed a psychometric validation of the BODY-Q Obesity Module in the context of GLP-1 and dual GIP/GLP-1 receptor agonists for weight loss.

OUTCOMES OF WEIGHT LOSS
BODY-Q has a total of 31 scales that were designed and tested in people having weight loss treatments as well as body contouring for cosmetic reasons and to remove excess skin after weight loss.
FACE-Q AESTHETICS has a 15 item scale that measures appearance-related changes caused by weight loss. This scale was developed from the FACE-Q Aesthetics item library and was field tested in the context of GLP-1 and dual GIP/GLP-1 receptor agnostic use for weight loss.
SKIN-Q measures how the skin on the face or body feels and looks. Like FACE-Q Aesthetics, this PROM can be used to measure changes in skin appearance that are treated by minimally invasive aesthetic treatments.
