CONCEPT-DRIVEN APPROACH
The BODY-Q is a rigorously developed patient-reported outcome measure designed to evaluate outcomes for obesity, weight loss treatments (e.g., diet, exercise, and bariatric surgery/medicine), and body contouring to remove excess skin after massive weight loss and for cosmetic reasons. The BODY-Q is composed of a series of independently functioning scales that measure four overarching domains (appearance, health-related quality of life (HRQOL), eating concerns, and experience of healthcare). Recently, a subset of six BODY-Q scales was included in the ICHOM Set of Patient-Centered Outcome Measures for Adults living with Obesity. This subset is shown in the figure below.

OUTCOMES OF WEIGHT LOSS
BODY-Q has a total of 31 scales that were designed and tested in people having weight loss treatments as well as body contouring for cosmetic reasons and to remove excess skin after weight loss.
FACE-Q AESTHETICS has scales that can be used to measure appearance-related changes (e.g., skin laxity, loss of volume, facial aging) caused by weight loss.
SKIN-Q measures how the skin on the face or body feels and looks. Like FACE-Q Aesthetics, this PROM can be used to measure changes in skin appearance that are treated by minimally invasive aesthetic treatments.
